Business Translation and Interpretation (Diploma)

Course Description

This program is designed to further students' language skills in order to translate and interpret to and from their native language (Korean) and their second language (English). This course help students develop the skills necessary for successful translation and interpretation, make them aware of incorrect translations, direct translations, and the importance of interpretation. Overall, the course is aimed towards understanding the two unique languages, and have the ability and skills to translate meanings and not literal words.

This online course is composed of four modules, and each module is broken down into three lessons. The first lesson is English to Korean Translation, the second lesson is Korean to English Translation, and the third lesson is Interpretation which is in two parts, English to Korean, and Korean to English.

Each module has a test of 20 translation questions, and five interpretation questions.
Each module has an accompanying homework assignment which includes vocabulary, translation questions (Korean to English and English to Korean) and interpretation recordings (Korean to English and English to Korean).

Students must complete all the assignments and tests with satisfactory marks in order to successfully complete this course and receive accreditation.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the full course, student's will receive an ITT diploma, which is a recognized accreditation from the Korean government.
In receipt of this diploma, it means that students have passed Level 3 of the Korean government recognized ITT Translation-Interpretation, and will have the change to write the Level 1, 2 test for further certification.

Requirements:

High-Intermediate+, TOEFL IBT 60+ or IELTS 5.0+.
