What Is MEDICAL ENGLISH PROGRAM?

 

MEDICAL ENGLISH PROGRAM

This program is for students who plan to be or is currently in the health field and want to improve their English communication skills within this industry. Students have the option to take one, two, or all of the courses in this program. Each course focuses on a specific area of the health industry; Body and Movement, Common Symptoms and Sicknesses, and Pharmaceuticals and Treatment. These courses have been designed to facilitate for better communication and understanding with patients and others in the health and medical field.

HOW to Process The Medical English Program

 

The course is broken into four modules with each module having three lessons. Two of the lessons are for skill development for the TCT exam, and the final lesson is an actual TCT question. There is a quiz after each module, a cumulative midterm, and final test. The final test will be cumulative from modules three and four, as well as a TCT question not included in the modules (a novel question).

 

1. This program involves 3 courses - each subject specific and the duration to complete each course is 6 weeks from the start date.

2. Each course has a module/lesson quiz, midterm, final test, and final assignment.

3. Successful completion of each course (a minimum overall mark of 80%) will be granted a certificate.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Proof of English proficiency through one of the following :

  • - BC English 12 with a minimum C+ grade
  • - IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL band 46 - 59 or TOEC band 605 - 780
  • - Glenn College/ Global College English Proficiency Test with an 80% minimum.

Grading Policy

 

Students must complete the course with a minimum overall mark of 80% to have successfully completed the program and be granted a certificate by Glenn College.

* Glenn College will be responsible for the marking of and providing of test results.
Upon successful completion, students will a receive Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and a course certificate.
