I`ve got the Test in Korean. (I changed the language to English now)
For No.4 , "following example words" were strang in korean.
In my think, Categories of observation :Teaching procedure/ Use of teaching aids/ Involvement of the class/ teachers personality/ Command of English
Because of strange translation, I thought, there are no answer, and I checked "No.4 Prononciation" as Command of english.
If I had read it in English, It was clear.
For No.7, In Korean, it was clear , too. And I answered Yes.
However, I think, this Q. is very subjective. In my opinion, Noise is very big issue. The classroom does not need to be calm, but Noise itself is very big problem. it must be controled basically.Without uncontroled noise, the class would be successful.
Here are my answers in English for No. 9&10.
No. 9 What do you think about translating vocabulary?
How often should be translate?
: It is not necessary to translate every word one-to-one.
However, I think it is very important for students to accurately recognize words, which they do not know or especially difficult, in their native language. So, frequency depends on the english level of students. Students of lower levels may need more translated words, while students with a high level of english may be able to understand the words in context.
No.10 What are some things that we, as teachers, can do to better control our students when conducting pair or group work activities?
: If we just start pair or group work activities, students might not know exactly what to do and could be confused. Thus, at the beginnig, we could introduce the activities that will be done in the class. Then, we could provide some specific examples in ordor that students do the activities refer to the examples. In addition, We could give students a time limit in case students finish the activites too early or late. And then, we ourselves could divide students into pairs or groups. Rather than just sitting, we should walk around and monitor the class. To increase students` participation, we could tell them that some will have to present and actually at the last we could get some pairs or groups to present.
Thanks a lot in advance. Have a good day.
