"Does it give lazy students a chance not to answer?" -> This means you're leaving them alone You're not encouraging them to attend classes. If you look at this question, it says "not to answer" unlike other questions.
If you're going to make an X, you have to say "Does it give laser studies a chance to answer?". Isn't it?

Yes, it gives students a chance not to answer, but the reason why I gave it an 'X' is not because that is not true, but because it has a negative impact/effect. Does that make sense?
