Hi Abigail,

When students work together as a pair or as a group, they feel more involved (more involved in the class and with the material).  They can also work together and this will help them to concentrate/focus on their task (whatever activity you have given them).  Basically pair and group work assignments help students focus their attention, and review vocabulary or structures that you have recently taught.
