Hello, I'm Heung Su Kim, again.
I have a question regarding translation.

You said that "  It is also crucial that you do your own work, not just copying others. (It is pretty obvious when you do.) "
But i think that translating English to Korea is limited being based on the lectures.

I have been spending a lot of times to do the homework since i took in the course.
More and more i repeatedly study the lectures, memorize the words and understand contexts, i have become to be used to using them.

Also, I really love studying English and have been studying it alone for 3 years.
I hate to copy the homework and always try not to do this.

In this situation, how could i translate the sentence?
for example, " 회사는 이미 상당기간 동안 조기 퇴직금을 제공하고 있다. " = > The company has been offering early retirement benefits for a while.

Isn't it limited to translate being based on the lectures?

Just i did what i could do the best without copy, now i'm confused about what i have done. (efforts, times etc.)

So would you advise me how to cope with this?

I'm always thankful for your sincere reply and I hope for you to have a nice day.

Hi Heung Su,

Thank you for raising your concern!

I am not entirely sure if I understood when you said “translating English to Korea is limited being based on the lectures.”

If you are asking, “will I be in trouble if my answer is the same as the instructor’s answer?” then my answer is absolutely no!

To answer your question:
회사는 이미 상당기간 동안 조기 퇴직금을 제공하고 있다.

and you translate it as:
The company has been offering early retirement benefits for a while.

Is this the only possible translation? Obviously not.
Does this mean your answer has to be exactly same as the above? Definitely not!

As long as you are doing your own work, meaning you are not getting someone else to do your work instead, I do not think my remark is something that will apply to you.
