Hi, Allan! I am studying Module 9 and there is something that I can't understand about oral practice. In your videos you only showed worksheets that students do in pairs so I wonder if I can't do oral practice in groups. In addition, should I only use oral practice from the textbooks? Thank you for your detailed answer in advance! Have a good day!

Hi Hyong Woo Choi,

Long time no see (or discussion anyhow)!

You're right, in the videos I only talked about worksheets that students can do in pairs.  Basically, we did not have enough time to talk about all the different ways that we can use worksheets, because of course we can use worksheets in a variety of different ways, and I always encourage people to make creative worksheets, and use them in creative ways.

Anyhow, to answer your question:  yes, you can use oral worksheets for group work activities, as long as it makes sense.  Also, of course you do not have to only use oral practice activities from the text.  However, while I do think it is fine to make your own oral worksheets, you should make sure that what you're practicing is related to what you have been teaching recently of course.

Well, I hope that helps, and if not, just post again and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible!
