Hello teacher Mason,

First of all, wish you all the best for the new year 2023!

Here are my questions today.

1. 귀사는 당사의 서신에 회신조차 없이 오늘까지 아무 조치도 취하지 않고 있습니다
you have not responded or taken action.

Here I do understand the usage of 'or' but what's the difference from 'nor'?
Is 'nor' here incorrect?

2. 귀사가 이 문제를 어떻게 처리하는가가 당사와의 향후 간계 지속에 영향을 미칠 것임을 양지하시기 바랍니다.
Please note (be aware) that how you handle this problem will affect our relationships

1) in place of 'handle' can I use 'deal with' ?
2) can I use 'please keep in mind that' to mean '양지하시기 바랍니다'?
These questions are to verify that I understand the nuances of the words/expressions I know of

3. 귀사에 많은 불편과 손실을 끼친 데 대하여 진심으로 사과드립니다
we apologize for the inconvenience and the time wasted caused by us.

In the Korean sentence, I can see '손실'
So can I say 'loss' here?

4. 귀사로부터 세부명세서를 받는 대로 적절한 보상을 해드리겠습니다
We will provide (make, give) appropriate compensation when we receive your request.

Why is '세부명세서' translated into 'request' and not 'invoice or statement..etc ?
Accrding to the context, the customer had always made repeated requests so it sounds akward to ask for request again

Hi Eunhye!

Happy New Year to you as well!

Below are my answers to your questions:

———————————————
1. 귀사는 당사의 서신에 회신조차 없이 오늘까지 아무 조치도 취하지 않고 있습니다
you have not responded or taken action.

Here I do understand the usage of 'or' but what's the difference from 'nor'?
Is 'nor' here incorrect?

-> Here, either ‘or’ or ‘nor’ can be used. Generally, ‘nor’ is far less common to use than ‘or’.

2. 귀사가 이 문제를 어떻게 처리하는가가 당사와의 향후 간계 지속에 영향을 미칠 것임을 양지하시기 바랍니다.
Please note (be aware) that how you handle this problem will affect our relationships

1) in place of 'handle' can I use 'deal with' ?

-> Yes you can.

2) can I use 'please keep in mind that' to mean '양지하시기 바랍니다'?
These questions are to verify that I understand the nuances of the words/expressions I know of

-> Yes I think that is perfectly fine.

3. 귀사에 많은 불편과 손실을 끼친 데 대하여 진심으로 사과드립니다
we apologize for the inconvenience and the time wasted caused by us.

In the Korean sentence, I can see '손실'
So can I say 'loss' here?

-> Context dependent but most likely yes.

-> I agree with you! I think the proper interpretation for 세부명세서 should have been “detailed statement/invoice”.

I hope this helps!
