What Is Hospitality Management Diploma Program?

 

Hospitality Management Diploma Program (12+12)

This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
This program will prepare students for a range of roles and positions in the hospitality industry as well as for the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) exam. Throughout the program, students will work through different courses, each identifying a key component of the hospitality industry. Students will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary in order to be a successful candidate and employee in the hospitality field, especially in managerial or supervisory roles.

HOW to Process Hospitality Management Diploma Program

 

This program is comprised of 12 separate courses. Each course will have 3 weekly chapter tests and a cumulative final exam. In addition, there will be an individual assignment and group assignment per course. This program provide internship in a career occupation.

 

  1. This program involves 12 courses. Each course is a duration of 4 weeks.
  2. Each course has 3 weekly tests based on the material covered in that week.
  3. There is a cumulative final based on all the material from the course.
  4. There will be an individual assignment and group assignment given at separate times throughout the course.
  5. Successful completion of each course will be granted a certificate for the course completion.
  6. Upon successfully completing all 12 courses and passing the AHLEI exam, students will be granted the management diploma as recognized by AHLEI offered by Glenn College.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 18 years old
  • Must be able to work in Canada (valid work permit, permanent residency or citizenship)

Proof of English proficiency through one of the following :

  1. BC English 12 with a minimum C+ grade
  2. IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL band 46 - 59 or TOEC band 605 - 780
  3. Glenn College English Proficiency Test with an 80% minimum

Grading Policy

 

Students must successfully complete all 12 courses (including all chapter tests, cumulative tests, individual and group assignments) with a minimum score of 70% per course. If these requirements are met, students may proceed to write the AHLEI exam for the management diploma.

* AHLEI exam will be submitted to AHLEI for marking and results.
Upon successful completion, students will a receive Letter of Acceptance (LOA), 12 course certificates as well as the AHLEI Hospitality Management Diploma.
