for example,
Q no. 14 John still hasn’t found a job since he left(dropped out) university 6 months ago.
and 16 It is almost impossible to decide which candidate should get the job.
I thought I need to put a, an, or the when it's not plural but it doesn't have one of them in the teacher's answer.
I just want to know when exactly to use of them.
Please help me to find the answer.

Hi Hyunmin,
If I am understanding your question correctly, are you asking whether to put "a, an, or the" in front of a countable noun if it is not plural?
Therefore number 14, in front of university, and number 16, in front of candidate?
If this is so, then the reason why there is no article in front of university is due to the fact that we are not referring to the university PLACE/BUILDING but more of the idea/concept of university; therefore an uncountable, abstract noun.
For number 16 the word "WHICH" indicates a specific candidate.
I hope this answers your question.

thanks Grace.
I got the clear answer.
in no.14, the word 'university' doesn't refer the place, it is used as a symbol. Am I right?
