Is this activities appropriate for lower level or younger students?
I think they don't fit in advanced level.
I wonder your opinion.
And I am wrong at Module 8, Quiz 7.
I don't understand why communicative activity is controlled
Thanks for writing kind answers in every question.
Have a great day, Allan^^

Hi Hye Won Lee,
You're right, 'look and say' activities and 'look and do' activities are not that well suited for advanced, or older, students. On the other hand, they are well suited for younger learners, as they can easily grab their attention and make a bigger impact on them then other methods.
Module 8, question 7 I am not too sure about, since I only mark the written questions. Could you please write down the full question? If you can write down the full question here, I can read it and then get back to you.
Anyhow, hope that helps and I look forward to your response!

Q7. All of the following are advantages of communicative activities except:
PART 1: Multiple Choice - Please circle the correct answer
1) They require a lot of material and preparion.
2) They are controlled and simple.
3) They are intensive and interesting.
4) There is a real exchange of information
I understand the answer is 1(They require~ preparation) but I don't understand why 2 is correct.

Hi again Hye Won Lee,
Hmm, to be honest I am a little bit confused by what you wrote. So the correct number was 1, or 2?
In my opinion number 1 is definitely the answer because this is obviously not a good thing, and therefore it is a disadvantage, although it is not always true. The reason why number 2 is an advantage is that while communicative activities can be intensive, difficult and interesting, they can also be controlled and simple, it really just depends on what kind of communicative activity you make. This is an advantage because while we do occasionally want to give students something difficult, sometimes we also want to provide students with something simple and controlled.
Well, if that does not make sense, please get back to me and have a nice day!
