Hi TaeWoo,
Whenever I use the term "structure" in TESOL I am simply talking about grammar (sorry if that is still confusing). So for example, "verb+ing" (present continuous tense) is a structure, "S+will+verb~" (future tense) is a structure, "S+had + past participle~" is a structure. Verb tenses are all examples of structures. However, expressions can also be structures. For example, "there is no point in verb+ing something" (ex. there is no point in reading that book) is also a structure. Any grammar/expression that can be modified to form many sentences is an example of a structure.
On the other hand, a structure table, is simply a table that demonstrates how to use a structure in a number of different ways. So, for example, let's say I make a structure table with examples of the present continuous tense:
Subject Be Verb Verb+ing Object
I am/is/are eating lunch
He/She playing games
They watching hockey
We
That is not the best example of a structure table, but that's the best I can do right now!
Anyhow, I hope this makes sense, but if not, please post again on the Q&A board, and I will try to get back to you asap.
Have a wonderful day!
