Hi, could you please explain this Q?

Providing students with a translation of a word is better than asking students to translate a word for us.

Thanks,

Hi Eun Sung Choi,

The question is asking you if you think translating vocabulary for students when presenting vocabulary is better than asking students to translate vocabulary for you when checking for understanding.  In general, asking students to translate vocabulary is a good way to check for understanding, although we should not do this so often.  Translating vocabulary for students on the other hand is something that we should rarely do.

Hope that helps and have a nice day!
