I have a question below.
"Free" practice activities should be conducted in a production stage? not a practice stage?
I thought it is free substitution so that it is included in the practice stage.

Good question! Yes, free practice activities like 'free substitution' should be put in a production stage. Remember, a production stage is basically a practice stage, but a practice stage in which students can use the new vocabulary and/or structures in a "free way" to "produce" something.
