Hope this finds you well and I am enjoying watching your online lessons! I find you really funny :)
I have two questions in regards to module 1 quiz.
The first question is could you please explain why pretending to teach in front of a mirror is not an answer for in order to observe ourselves we can do?
The reason why is that when I was deciding my answer, I think pretending to teach in front of a mirror is a really good idea because we can actually see ourselves, and also we can see how we talk or if we are talking naturally or unnaturally and also i can check on my body language if it's too much or fine. From my personal experience, I actually practice in front of a mirror before heading to an interview and pretended like I am actually doing an interview. That way, I can observe myself and see how i talk, if my body language is okay or too much, or if I talk naturally or unnaturally.
Secondly, I chose a reading activity as the best suited specifically for pair work because I do think that reading comprehension is the best suited activity for pair specifically because when student underlines the words that he or she does not know while reading, his or her partner can explain the meaning if the partner knows. If the partner does not know the meaning, then it encourages to work together as a pair to make a guess or get to know the meaning of the word from each other. So they can learn from their partner. I do definitely agree that pattern practice is good for pair activity, but I think reading comprehension is the best suited activity specifically for pair because of above reasons.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Hi Choonyoung Ro,
Good questions! Let's take a look:
1.) Well, out of the four options, it is the poorest. In addition to that, while teaching in front of the mirror might help you to practice, and gain confidence, it is difficult to pretend to teach AND at the same time analyze yourself. It could be compared to the other option, "plan well, teach, and then deeply reflect on the class", but this option is better as you are teaching in front of a real class.
2.) A reading activity in pairs is not a bad idea, and you are basically correct. HOWEVER, it is not the best option. Out of all the four options, pattern practice is best suited for pairs because it makes the most sense. A reading activity can be done as a class, individually, or in pairs. They're not exactly ideal for pairs. A pattern practice activity can be done in pairs, or groups, although this is not ideal, and should not be done individually. Anyhow, all in all, the best suited is pattern practice.
Does that make sense? If not, feel free to post again and have a great day!
