Hi Allen ~

I have wondered why I was wrong.
I made a sentence using "work", I am sick of the work.
You commented the answer should have been " I am sick of work "
But I used the word "work" as a noun and it is something specific just as "this work" although I did write about what was the work.
Could you please explain more in detail.
Thank you for your effort in advance.

Hi Hee Jeong Jegal,

Good question!  Technically you are correct, "I am sick of the work" could be correct.  However, in this case, "the work" that the speaker is talking about would have to been mentioned beforehand.  For example:

A:  I am so tired of working as a plumber these days.
B:  Oh yeah?  That's too bad.
A:  Yeah, I am sick of the work.

However, that being said, even in this case, most English speakers would probably simply say, "I am sick of work".  Hmm, I might change your mark though.

Anyhow, hope that helps and have a wonderful day!
