Hi Allan,
I am enjoying your lectures so far, so thank you!
I have a question regarding module2, question #2; "presenting the words guilty&present"
I chose the answer '(2) Draw pictures', however the correct answer is' (1) Explain in English, and provide oral examples'
Well, I was a bit confused here.
If you look at the words individually, the word 'guilty' would be best explained when acted out in the class or drawn on the board. And the word 'present' can be best described when it is explained in English or drawn on the board (as you have done in the lecture).
So I thought the common method you can use to present the words here for BOTH 'guilty' and 'present' would be the answer choice #2 which is drawing pictures.
Can you please explain if the way I think on this question is wrong?

Drawing pictures to show the meaning of an adjective such as guilty would be very hard. You could draw someone who looks guilty, but students would most likely misunderstand and think the drawing of the person is 'ashamed', 'anxious', or 'awkward', etc. In this case I do think providing an oral explanation and oral examples would be best. 'Present' could be drawn of course if it is the noun form, as in a 'christmas present', but if it is the verb form, it could also be done, although I do think acting would be best. However, option number 2 only includes drawing, not acting.
