[Business Translation (Advanced - ITT Level 1,2)] Question about grammar

Hello
While i was working on my interpretation coures, i've encountered a sentence that i can not understand.
Since there is no English-experts around me, I deceded to ask for help from Q&A section.

Below is the sentence
[Because horses cannot see red,Hook's prototype eyes used cameras and programmingto strip red from the cisible spectrum.]

I could understand what it is about since the context is clear though i am not so sure if this is grammatically correct. So how i assume wouldbe probably 80% correct but, I would like to know how it is correct and so thati could make my comprehension perfect.
